Marsha Traub

Baton

studied dance for 9 years from June Burnett and Audrey Montgomery in Springfield, PA. Upon entering Junior/Senior high school she took up baton twirling and joined the marching band at Garnet Valley Junior/Senior High School. She was a member of the band for 6 years, in which she served as head majorette for 2 years. During this time she also did competitive baton twirling with the high school majorette squad as well as participating in solo and duet events.

Marsha was a member of the University of Maine marching band for 4 years. She was a feature twirler for 4 years and also head majorette for 1 year.

Marsha began teaching neighborhood children while still in high school. She has taught for Weightman’s Performance Center in Longwood and Chichester. She also taught at Stewart’s School of Dance in Aberdeen, Scotland for 5 years. There the team was sponsored by a local airline. The team performed at air shows throughout Great Britain. Marsha has been teaching at KMC since the spring of 1995. She has also instructed the majorette squads at Unionville and Chichester High Schools. Many of her students have gone on to twirl in high school and college.

Marsha truly loves twirling and wants to pass that on to her students. In April 2011, Marsha was awarded the Joyce Helsel Traveling Trophy. This award is given to someone who has contributed to baton twirling selflessly.
